This course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills of high school students, college students, and adult community members to help prepare them to pass the USITT’s (United States Institute of Theatre Technology) BACKstage exams under the eSET program (Essential Skills for Entertainment Technicians). Passing these exams would give students a CTE certification. Additionally, students who complete this course will have the knowledge to apply for the “over hire list” of qualified technicians who could be hired to staff events for the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts. Classes will include intensive study of stage rigging, lighting, sound, video, and other operational systems in the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts.
