Basketball -Warrior Boys CampsSportsEntering Grades 2-4 10-11am This camp aims to continue to introduce kids to the game of basketball and start to build on the fundamental skills of the game. We will work on the fundamentals win an emphasis on FUN, playing games and having contests that incorporate the fundamentals of the game. Participants will receive a T-Shirt. Fee $35 Entering Grades 5 & 6. 12-1:30pm This camp will progress from that basic fundamentals and help these players expand their skillset as well as their knowledge and understanding of the game. Camp #1 - for boys and girls grades K-2, 4:30-5:30pm - Mar 23/T, Mar 24/W, Mar 25/Th, Mar 30/Tu & Mar 31/W and Public Performance/Showcase, Apr 1/Th,5:30-7pm, show at 7pm. Camp #2 - for boys and girls grades 3-6, 6-7 pm - Mar 23/T, Mar 24/W, Mar 25/Th, Mar 30/Tu & Mar 31/W and Public Performance/Showcase, Apr 1/Th, 5:30-7pm, show at 7pm. Participants will learn all of the essential skills they will need as they progress in cheerleading. Introductory and intermediate skills in jumping, stunting, flexibility, cheer motions and techniques will be covered. Participants will learn cheers that are used at home football games so they can help cheer on our Warriors from the stands! All participants will receive a t-shirt. Masks will be required at all times for kids camp along with daily safety screening and temperature checks. Parents will not be allowed to stay and watch during camp (all camp dates held at Lincoln Gym) so be sure to attend the Parent/Public Showcase on Thursday, April 1. PopularCompetitive Stroke & Turn for Competitive Swimmers Gr 5+Youth: SwimThis 4-week swimming program will focus on improving the four competitive strokes as well as turns and starts. That is 12 hours of in-water instruction in a small group setting. It will be taught by former BHS swimmer Gabby VanHorn. It is open for boys and girls going into grade 5 through college age. Football - Warrior Camps Grades 4-8SportsBig Man Football Camp: For players entering grades 6-8 aspiring to be offensive and defensive linemen. Players will be instructed by grade level on the skills and techniques that go with becoming a successful lineman in the Warrior football program. This camp is meant to be instructional but also fun and competitive. Participants will get a special t-shirt just for this camp. 6th-8th Grade Football Camp: This is a non-contact camp and does not require any equipment except cleats, t-shirt and shorts. The focus of the camp is to work on individual skills and fundamentals that are part of being a Warrior football player. Participants will also be broken up by grade to begin learning the basic offensive and defensive schemes for their upcoming school season. The remainder of the camp will be dedicated towards fun competitive drills centered around football and learning the game. T-Shirt also included for this camp. 4th-5th Grade Football Camp: This camp is to kick off the BYAA season for anyone entering grades 4-5. Have fun learning the basics of Warrior football through fundamentals, drills, and other football-related activities. The camp will be led by varsity football players and coaches from the middle and high school levels. All campers will also receive a Warrior football T-shirt. This is also the opportunity to get registered for BYAA football at the camp. Post cards and reminders will be sent prior to the camp to all 4th and 5th graders. Football - Warrior Camps Grades 9-12SportsFor questions regarding ALL camps contact Coach Freed at 218-454-5385 or jason.freed@isd181.org 9th Grade Football Camp: Focus for this camp will be on individual techniques, skills, and implementing the varsity schemes for offense, defense, and special teams. Led by the varsity football staff and 9th-grade football staff, this is a non-contact camp and no equipment will be needed except cleats, t-shirt, and shorts. This camp is separate from the varsity camp. All camp participants will receive a camp t-shirt and a pair of Warrior football shorts. 10-12th Grade Football Camps: All camp participants will receive two camp shirts and two pairs of Warrior football shorts. Registration for these camps includes all the following dates. Camp #1: Equipment pre-issued. The focus will be on individual techniques and skills centered around Warrior football. A large emphasis of camp will be working on the Warrior football passing game and pass defense along with drill work for the offensive and defensive linemen. This camp will also be used to prepare for our Team Camp in July at Bemidji State University(July 19-21). The remainder of the camp will be dedicated to fun competitive drills centered around football and learning the game. Camp #2: The focus of this camp will be to continue the implementation of individual skills and techniques, but also begin the implementation of the offensive, defensive, and special teams schemes for the upcoming season. Assistants will emphasize throwing, catching and hitting from a tee with a soft baseball. A parent meeting will be held June 2 at 11:00am for the morning program, and at 6pm for the evening program at Oscar Kristofferson Park. Games will be played at Oscar Kristofferson Park in Baxter. The morning program will have a short practice following the parent meeting. No practice following the evening parent meeting. All players should bring their glove to every practice. It is VERY important to attend this meeting to get your team assignment, schedule and shirt. The morning program will run from 11am-noon; the evening program will run between 5:30-8:30pm.
