Future Problem Solvers: Teaching How to Think, Not What to Think - Grades 4-9

Youth / Enrichment -
Fall 2025

Students will research real world challenges, and use their creative thinking skills to formulate solutions to solve problems related to the future scene in the framework of a 6 step process. Students will then take their best solution and develop it into an action plan and present it as a team skit. The topics for this year are “invasive species” and "space exploration"; for the practice problems, “video games” for the regional competition, and "surveillance" for the state competition. Regional competition will take place virtually in early Feb, with state competition taking place virtually end of March. There will also be an on-site presentation as well in April in St. Cloud, MN. Students must provide their own transportation. Students are not required to participate in the regional/state competitions, but are encouraged to do so.
