Future Problem Solvers: Creative Writing and Storytelling - Grades 4-12

Youth / Enrichment -
Fall 2025

In Future Problem Solvers' Creative Writing and Storytelling programs, students learn to thoroughly research a real world issue and then imagine possible outcomes of future actions or events based on the future problem-solving topics of the year. They will develop a creative, futuristic narrative to entertain and inform readers. The Creative Writing program strives to help students enlarge, enrich, and make more accurate their image of the future, while refining their creative writing skills. The storytellers will present their future work in a story telling format. Topics are invasive species, video games, surveillance and space exploration. They will receive feedback on their work and have the opportunity to compete with other students. Students are not required to participate in the regional/state competitions, but are encouraged to do so.
