CUBS - for ages 5-11 - Meets Mondays, June 3rd - July 15th 6:00 - 7:00 PM BEARS - for ages 12+ - Meets Tuesdays, June 4th - July 16th 6:00 - 7:00 PM GRIZZLIES - for ages 18+ - Meets Tuesdays, June 4th - July 16th 7:15 - 8:15 PM **Buddies are needed to help the players bat, round the bases and play defense. Businesses, service groups and organizations can choose a night to be a Buddy. Please text coach Sam at (218) 839-8768 to plan an evening or two to help Miracle League players.     Parks and Rec Slowpitch Senior Girls Softball - Grades 8 and up

    Open to girls ages 14-18 as of 5/1/24 (current 8th grade and up). This is a competitive slow pitch league. Advanced skills in offense and defense are taught by volunteer coaches. Games and practices will be played Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Buffalo Hills Park. We rely on parent coaches, to ensure a successful season for our players, please consider coaching. Register before May 1st to avoid a late fee of $10. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis only. Skills night will be Tues, May 21st from 6-7:30pm at Buffalo Hills Park softball fields.

    Parks and Rec Fall Soccer Gr 5-6

    Fall soccer is designed for boys and girls to learn fundamentals, sportsmanship and have fun playing the team sport of soccer. Practices will start Wednesday, September 4th immediately after school on the 5th/6th grade soccer field, with a parent meeting following the first practice from 5-5:30pm. Teams will practice two days a week until 5pm, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. There will be no practices on Friday. Players are asked to attend two practices a week but are encouraged to attend all four days for more training. Most games will be played on Saturday mornings (there may be an occasional week-night game.) Some travel to local communities will be involved. Parents are responsible for transportation to out-of-town games. Season will end with an end-of-season tournament on Saturday, October 5. Rosters/schedules will be sent out via e-mail. Team shirts will be given out at practice. Registrations will be accepted on a space available basis. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate so during registration – we need help! Avoid a $10 late fee if you register by Sept 1st.

    Parks and Rec Pony Baseball Ages 13-15

    Players must be born on or after 5/1/08 and before 5/1/11. Players will play twice a week Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Season will begin approximately one week after the school baseball season has ended. There is no skills clinic for this league. Players will be notified of teams by their coaches. Games begin the first week of June. We rely on parent coaches, to ensure a successful season for our players, please consider coaching. Register BY May 11 to avoid a late fee of $10. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis only. Pony playoffs third week of July.

    Parks and Rec Bronco Baseball Ages 11-12

    Players must be born on or after 5/1/11 and before 5/1/13. Bronco games & practices are played M & W evenings and will be split between fields in Brainerd and Baxter. Skills night is Monday, April 29th at Oscar Kristofferson Park in Baxter, from 6-8pm. We will meet on May 1st in case of inclement weather on the 29th. A coach will contact players once they are placed on a team. Practice will start the first week of May (weather permitting). Space is limited on teams. Register before April 15 to avoid a late fee of $10. Late registrants will be accepted on a space-available basis only.     Parks and Rec Fall Soccer Ages 4-10

    Fall soccer is designed for boys and girls to learn fundamentals, sportsmanship and have fun playing the team sport of soccer. Players meet one week night and Saturday mornings for games and practices at Southdale Soccer Fields in Baxter. Ages 4-5 and 6-7 parents can select Monday or Thursday practice nights. Ages 8-10 practice option is Thursday night only - in addition to Saturday. A parent/player meeting will be held Thursday, September 5th at Southdale Soccer Fields. Parents of new players will meet at 5:15pm, parents of returning players may pick up their shirt and schedules from 6-7pm that same night. It is very important to attend this first meeting to receive your schedule and team assignment. We rely on parent coaches. To ensure a successful season for our players, please consider coaching. Register BY September 1st to avoid a late fee of $10. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis.     Parks and Rec Flag Football Gr 2-3

    Flag football meets twice a week for a fun-filled game of non-tackling football for both boys and girls. Meets 5:45 - 7:00pm. After the first practice on Sept 9th we will have a short parent meeting. No equipment required; wear tennis shoes and dress for the weather. Register BEFORE Sept 1st, space is limited. At LEAST 8-10 parent volunteers are needed to make the program successful, please indicate your interest when registering.     Parks and Rec Minor League Baseball Ages 6-7

    Players must be 6 years old before 1/1/2024 to be eligible for this program, completed one year of t-ball and need further challenge in baseball with an emphasis on fun.This league uses a soft baseball and a pitching machine.This group meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings, during the 6-8pm timeframe - at Loren Thompson Park in Baxter. Each practice/game will last approximately 1 hour. The parent meeting will be held June 4th at 6pm at Oscar Kristofferson park in Baxter. Shirts and schedules are handed out at the parent meeting. Take advantage of our early bird rate and register BY May 11 to save $10 (discount will show upon checkout). Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis only. If participant numbers don’t meet enrollment minimums, this may be cancelled.

    Parks and Rec Major League Baseball Ages 7-8

    Players must be at least 7 years old before 1/1/24 to be eligible for this program, completed one year of t-ball and need further challenge in baseball with an emphasis on fun. This league uses a hard baseball and a pitching machine. These teams meet Tuesdays and Thursdays within the 5:30pm-8:30pm time frame - depending on schedule and number of teams. The parent meeting will be held June 4th at 7pm at Oscar Kristofferson Park. Shirts and schedules will be handed out at the meeting. Each practice/game will last approximately 1 hour. We rely on parent coaches. To ensure a successful season for our players, please consider coaching. Register BY May 11 to avoid a late fee of $10.00. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis.

    Parks and Rec 10U Girls Softball - Grades 3 & 4

    Girls must be age 8-10 as of 5/1/24 (current 3rd and 4th grade). This league will build on improving the skills needed in the game of softball. This level of play will use player and coach pitch. The 10U girls will play on Monday and Wednesday nights. We rely on parent coaches, to ensure a successful season for our players, please consider coaching. Register by May 1st to avoid a late fee of $10. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis only. Times listed in this description are general, a more exact schedule will be published once teams are formed. Skills nights will be Mon, May 6th and Wed, May 8th from 6-7:30pm at Forestview Middle School softball fields. In the event of inclement weather, we will be in the gyms at Forestview.

    Parks and Rec 8U Girls Softball - Grades 1 & 2

    Girls must be age 6-8 as of 5/1/24 current (1st and 2nd grade). This league will be an introduction to the wonderful game of softball at our youngest level. Focus will be on the skill building basics of softball, along with playing in house games. This level of play will use coach pitch. The 8U girls will play on Tuesday and Thursday nights. We rely on parent coaches, to ensure a successful season for our players, please consider coaching. Register before May 1st to avoid a late fee of $10. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis only. Skills nights will be Tues, May7th and Thurs, May 9th from 6-7:30pm at Forestview Middle School softball fields.

    Parks and Rec Youth AM or PM T-Ball Ages 4-6

    Players must be 4-6 years old before 1/1/24 to be eligible for this program. Assistants will emphasize throwing, catching and hitting from a tee with a soft baseball. A parent meeting will be held May 29th at 11:00am for the morning program, and at 6pm for the evening program at Oscar Kristofferson Park. It is VERY important to attend this meeting to get your team assignment, schedule and shirt. Games will be played at Oscar Kristofferson Park in Baxter. The morning program will have a short practice following the parent meeting. No practice following the evening parent meeting. All players should bring their glove to every practice. The morning program will run for an hour, sometime between 10am-noon; the evening program between 5:30-8:30pm (depending on number of teams). Take advantage of our early bird rate and register BY May 11 to avoid a $10 late fee. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis only.
