    Arts & Craft Festivals

    Annual Arts & Craft Festivals WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING VENDORS! All registrations will go automatically go to a waitlist for approval. Vendors will find out their status within 5-7 days of registering. When an application is approved, the payment will process. Entry Fee: Application fees are non-refundable once accepted. Vendors will receive an email confirmation of show acceptance. If an application fee cannot be processed at that time, you will be notified via phone call or email to complete the application fee. Failure to pay the application fee will result in removal from the show. Rental Fee: Please review rental spaces below. All spaces include approx. 4' of depth, with the exception of the 12'x12' spaces. Booth Sizes & Pricing 8’x4’ $85 16’x4’ $105 24’x4’ $125 32’x4’ $145 12’x12’ $150 Table Rentals(6’ or 8’) $5/table Please indicate the space you would like and the number of tables needed on your registration form. Number of Exhibits Exhibitors will be placed in the cafeteria, commons area, and hallways of the high school. We reserve the right to limit the number of exhibitors in a category (ie: photography, painting, sewing, etc.) to ensure a variety of handmade products. Please indicate the category of your products when filling out the registration form. *Exhibition placement will depend upon when the registration was submitted and at the coordinator's discretion. Please turn in your registration promptly as shows may fill quickly and before the deadline. Marketing of Event The shows are marketed through Brainerd Community Education, the Brainerd Dispatch, local radio stations, and through flyers at area schools and businesses. Vendors are encouraged to take part in promoting the event through flyers, word of mouth, social media, clubs, etc. Show flyers will be sent out with your space assignment number at least one week prior to the event. Handmade/Crafted Items Only Items must be handmade or handcrafted by you or a family member and must not include items or articles made from commercial kits or items purchased for resale. Any food vendors (jellies, jams, nuts, etc) must be licensed. Vendors violating this rule will be asked to leave and will not be allowed in future shows. Tables & Chairs Two chairs are provided at each space for no additional cost. Table rentals are available at $5/table for either a 6 ft. or 8 ft. table and are provided on a limited first come, first serve basis. Tables should be covered. Vendors are allowed to bring their own tables or displays as long as they do not exceed the allotted space. Please request additional space on your registration form for any extra equipment or space such as signs, easels, etc. Set-Up & Hours Vendors can start setting up their spaces Saturday morning at 6:30 AM. All tables must be completely set up by 8:45 AM. Dependent on district activities, Friday night set up may be possible. Please check your email one week prior to the event about set up information. Once you have arrived to the space for set up, check the flyers and table numbers to find your location.The show coordinator will be there to assist anyone with questions and finding their locations. Once tables have been set up, you will be responsible for your own items. Carts are not provided. The general public is not allowed into the space until 9:00 AM. Please do not bring friends of family through the event beforehand as this time is meant for vendor set up only. Vendors must stay for the entirety of the event. Vendors that leave prior to 3pm will not be allowed to participate in future shows. Permits & Licenses All permits and licenses required by the State of MN or the Federal Government are the sole responsibility of the vendors. According to state law, you must have a sales tax number and collect 7.875% MN sales tax; this includes a one-half of one percent sales and use tax for the city of Brainerd and one-half of one percent sales tax for Crow Wing County. A copy of your sales tax certificate or sales tax letter must be included with your application for each festival or your application will be rejected. Refreshments & Admissions A refreshment and/or concessions are TBD. There is no admission charge to the public. District Building Info & Events: All district policies & regulations are followed at events houses in district buildings. All items sold at the event must be appropriate for all ages and adhere to district policies. Please keep in mind that other events may be going on in the High School at the same time as the craft show (sporting events, community education classes, meetings, etc.).   • Babysitting 101 - Gr 5-8

    This course is best suited for 10-13 year olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems. Students receive a reference book, handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit. Students will need to bring a snack, bag lunch and water bottle.

    Beginning Band Start-Up Lessons 6th Grade

    Students interested in joining 6th grade band for the 2024-2025 school year must undergo a two-part process. First, students, accompanied by their parents, will have an opportunity to try band instruments in an individually scheduled ‘band screening’ with one of the band directors. Band screening appointments will take place from March 19-May 24th. Band screening information was emailed to parents on March 8th. Please email the band director at chuck.carlson@isd181.org if you did not receive that information. Second, students will attend the beginning band group start-up lessons for 2 days on Aug 21/22 or Aug 29/30 to learn the basics of how to start playing their new band instrument. We are offering the same lessons over 2 different weeks to accommodate family schedules. Please choose ONE of the two day sessions (Aug 21/22 OR Aug 29/30). The start-up lessons allow the instructors to cover all of the initial information and skills that are needed when school starts such as; how to put their instrument together, produce the first sound on the instrument, how to read music and learn to play the first five notes in their beginning band book. Each day’s lesson is one-and-a-half hours with other students who play the same instrument. For families that know they will not be available for either week of group start-up lessons, you may sign up for individual summer band lessons during June and July (more information available at band screening).     An hour of fun designed for families with children ages 2-7 years. Arts and crafts will be based on favorite children's books. Come and read and play together. Wednesdays in July. Mornings are held at the Warrior Early Learning Center. Afternoons are held at the Nisswa Children's Library at Nisswa Elementary School. Sign up for one or sign up for all!

  • Cheer - Warrior Middle School Summer Skills Gr 5-8

    This summer skills class is for students who want to learn more about Warrior Cheer. Students will have the opportunity to attend a 2 day UCA Summer Camp in Brainerd on July 23rd & 24th, for an additional fee of $189, more details will be sent out after registration. Students will have the opportunity to fundraise for the UCA Camp with Warrior Cheer.
  • Driver Ed Permit Knowledge Test

    This driver permit test is ONLY open to students who have taken their driver education course through Brainerd Community Education. The test will be administered on sight and online at Brainerd High School in room B112. Upon registering, you will be placed on a waiting list until we verify your completion of OUR Community Education Driver Education class and all of the requirements. Once verified, you will be moved in to the class, and charged $10. PLEASE NOTE: All students MUST BRING TO CLASS WITH THEM, their BLUE CARD, as well as their social security number.
  • Explore Music! Gr 1-5

    Kids in the Lakes Area will not want to miss this week long day camp packed with activities and creativity! Participants will move, dance, sing and play instruments every day and exercise their creative muscles through guided improvisation. The week will culminate with a symphony performance for families on Sunday, August 4th at 3:00pm at the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts concert hall at Brainerd High School. Participants will be invited to do a short performance on stage at Gichi-ziibi Center prior to our 3pm symphony kids concert. The short performance will begin around 2:40pm.

    Football - Camps Gr 4-8

    Gr 6-8 Big Man Football Camp: This camp is for players aspiring to be offensive and defensive linemen. Players will be instructed by grade level on the skills and techniques that go with becoming a successful football player in the Warrior football program. This camp is meant to be instructional, fun and competitive. Players will play 7 on 7 each night, as well as other lineman competitions. Participants will get a special t-shirt just for this camp. Gr 6-8 Football Positional Skills Camp: This camp is for players aspiring to play quarterback, wide receiver, running back or a skilled position on the defensive side of football. Players will be instructed by grade level on the skills and techniques that go with becoming a successful football player in the Warrior football program. This camp is meant to be instructional, fun and competitive. Players will play 7 on 7 each night, as well as other competitions. Participants will get a special t-shirt for this camp. Gr 6-8 Team Football Camp: This is a non-contact camp and does not require any equipment except cleats, t-shirt and shorts. The focus of the camp is to give middle school football players a jump start on their middle school season. Participants will be broken up by grade level to begin learning the basic offensive and defensive schemes for their upcoming school season, as well as have opportunities to compete and use what they learned at the Big Man and positional Skills Camps. The remainder of the camp will be dedicated toward fun competitive drills centered around football and learning the game. T-shirt given out at this camp for those who didn't get one at the Skills/Big Man Camps. Gr 4-5 Football Camp: Have fun learning the basics of Warrior football through fundamentals, drills and other football related activities. The camp will be led by varsity players and coaches from the middle and high school level. All campers will receive a Warrior football t-shirt. Ignite your passion for visual storytelling at "Intro to Comic Creation." *Supervision is provided from 12-1pm for students who enroll in both Intro to Comic Creation and Battle Drones - you must provide your own cold lunch for this hour.

    Parks and Rec Fall Soccer Ages 4-10

    Fall soccer is designed for boys and girls to learn fundamentals, sportsmanship and have fun playing the team sport of soccer. Players meet one week night and Saturday mornings for games and practices at Southdale Soccer Fields in Baxter. Ages 4-5 and 6-7 parents can select Monday or Thursday practice nights. Ages 8-10 practice option is Thursday night only - in addition to Saturday. A parent/player meeting will be held Thursday, September 5th at Southdale Soccer Fields. Parents of new players will meet at 5:15pm, parents of returning players may pick up their shirt and schedules from 6-7pm that same night. It is very important to attend this first meeting to receive your schedule and team assignment. We rely on parent coaches. To ensure a successful season for our players, please consider coaching. Register BY September 1st to avoid a late fee of $10. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis.     Parks and Rec Fall Soccer Gr 5-6

    Fall soccer is designed for boys and girls to learn fundamentals, sportsmanship and have fun playing the team sport of soccer. Practices will start Wednesday, September 4th immediately after school on the 5th/6th grade soccer field, with a parent meeting following the first practice from 5-5:30pm. Teams will practice two days a week until 5pm, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. There will be no practices on Friday. Players are asked to attend two practices a week but are encouraged to attend all four days for more training. Most games will be played on Saturday mornings (there may be an occasional week-night game.) Some travel to local communities will be involved. Parents are responsible for transportation to out-of-town games. Season will end with an end-of-season tournament on Saturday, October 5. Rosters/schedules will be sent out via e-mail. Team shirts will be given out at practice. Registrations will be accepted on a space available basis. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate so during registration – we need help! Avoid a $10 late fee if you register by Sept 1st.

    Parks and Rec Flag Football Gr 2-3

    Flag football meets twice a week for a fun-filled game of non-tackling football for both boys and girls. Meets 5:45 - 7:00pm. After the first practice on Sept 9th we will have a short parent meeting. No equipment required; wear tennis shoes and dress for the weather. Register BEFORE Sept 1st, space is limited. At LEAST 8-10 parent volunteers are needed to make the program successful, please indicate your interest when registering.   • Welcome to the World: Baby Play Class

    ECFE weekly time together classes for parents and their infant aged children. Sign up for as many sessions as you wish. CLASS OVERVIEW: Meet other parents with young babies! This will be a time to connect and play. A great option for parents on maternity/paternity leave. Bring a blanket to lay your baby on if needed. Children attend with a parent or guardian. Child's age on class start date determines class enrollment. No one will be turned away because they cannot afford to pay the fees that are listed. Refer to the reduced fee schedule in each item for eligibility. Cancellation policy: You must cancel class at least 3 business days prior to the first day of class to receive a refund, after that date no refunds are provided. Registration Questions?
